FAIR Press

FAIR Press is a reproducibility-first academic publisher, founded in 2026 by Matthias Templ and Jürgen Degenfellner (ZHAW). Fair to the researcher, fair to the taxpayer, fair to science.

Results rerun before publication, as far as the data allow.

I am co-founder of FAIR Press and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Reproducible Statistics. A named editor signs every verdict; for JRepStat that is me.

The journals

Journal of Reproducible Statistics

New methods, applied analyses of real data, software, simulation studies, replications, null and negative findings. Code is rerun on the data and a signed reproduction certificate goes with the paper.

accepting submissions

Journal of Reproducible Health Sciences

The same model for clinical and public-health research, where data are often too sensitive to publish and verification runs on surrogates.

accepting founding articles

Journal of Reproducible Biology

In preparation for the life sciences.

How it works

  1. Results are rerun before publication, as far as the data allow; where privacy prevents open data, verification uses surrogates.
  2. Structured checks on statistics, code and clarity are part of the review; the report is published with the paper.
  3. Authors keep copyright under CC BY; open access, always.
  4. Fees are a fraction of the usual open-access charge, waivers are need-blind, and the strongest papers are paid for rather than charged.
  5. A named human signs every verdict. No cookies, no tracking.
